Imaginarium Wooden Ramp Racer Review – From opening this Wooden Ramp Racer on his birthday four months ago to consistently using it during playtime every day, my son has absolutely loved this toy. He is three and a half, and has been diagnosed with a learning disability, so we have been moving through learning exercises and developmental toys at a much slower pace than we did with our older daughter. The Wooden Ramp Racer has been one of the best purchases that my husband and I have made for our son in terms of combined developmental aid and enjoyment.
This Wooden Ramp Racer is simple to set up and extremely well made. The ramp is solid and polished wood, so the cars race easily down the track. The track keeps up with its racing theme, with fun racing paintings all along the track. The four cars that come with the set are color-coded, and it has been a great tool for helping to teach our son his colors as well as matching skills.
We have also slowly been teaching him to recognize numbers through the track, a bonus that we didn’t expect, as the track has racing numbers painted on it. Additionally, my husband and I feel that we have actually seen an incredible improvement in the development of his hand-eye coordination and overall motor skills as he has played with this toy. It has been such a gift to watch him both learn from and enjoy a toy so completely as he has this one, and I think he will continue to learn and grow with it over the next few months.
Finally, and most importantly, our son has an absolute blast playing with this Ramp Racer. He easily spends hours at a time with the toy, racing cars down the track, enjoying every minute of the speed. My husband and I love watching how much he loves it – and honestly, both of us love joining in in the fun and racing the cars with him. The toy holds his attention much longer than any other toy that we have ever purchased for him, and so it has become a staple in the learning exercises that we go through with him every day.
Fun for toddlers is the key to their learning processes, and kids with learning disabilities are no different in this respect. In keeping his attention, he has learned so much from this toy, however slow the process may have been in comparison to “average” kids. This Racer Track is such a simple and straightforward toy that it doesn’t seem possible that one toy could have given us so much enjoyment, but this Racer Track has truly been one of the best additions we have made to our toy collection. We highly recommend this toy to other families with toddlers!
